What is COVID-19?
COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) is a disease caused by a new type of coronavirus, namely Sars-CoV-2, which was first reported in Wuhan China on December 31, 2019. COVID-19 can cause symptoms of acute respiratory problems such as fever above 38 ° C, cough and shortness of breath for humans. In addition, it can be accompanied by weakness, muscle aches, and diarrhea. In people with severe COVID-19, it can cause pneumonia, acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.
COVID-19 can be transmitted from human to human through close contact and droplets (splashes of liquid when sneezing and coughing), not through the air. The form of COVID-19 when viewed through an electron microscope (respiratory fluid / throat swab) and redraws the form of COVID-19 as a virus that has a crown.
Entry of the Covid-19 pandemic:
On March 2, 2020, for the first time, the government announced two cases of positive Covid-19 patients in Indonesia. However, University of Indonesia (UI) Epidemiologist Pandu Riono said the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus as the cause of Covid-19 had entered Indonesia since early January. "Since early January, it is very likely that the virus (SARS-CoV-2) has entered Indonesia," said Pandu in an online discussion entitled "Population Mobility and Covid-19: Social, Economic and Political Implications" on Monday (4/5/2020 ).
The most common symptoms:
· fever
· dry cough
· fatigue
Slightly uncommon symptoms:
· discomfort and pain sore throat diarrhea
· conjunctivitis (red eye)
· headache loss of taste or smell rash on the skin, or discoloration of the fingers or toes
Serious symptoms:
· difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
· chest pain or pressure in the chest
· loss of ability to speak or move
To prevent the spread of COVID-19:
· Wash your hands regularly. Use soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
· Always maintain a safe distance from people who are coughing or sneezing.
· Wear a mask if physical restrictions are not possible.
· Don't touch your eyes, nose or mouth.
· When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with an arm or tissue.
· Don't leave the house if you don't feel well.
· If you have fever, cough or difficulty breathing, seek medical help immediately.
